Become a life-changing speech pathologist. Speech Pathologists provide valuable assistance to people with a wide range of communication needs, including speaking, listening, reading, writing, non-verbal communication, fluency and voice. They also help individuals with swallowing and eating needs to enhance their health, wellbeing and participation in everyday life. La Trobe's Master of Speech Pathology gives you the knowledge and skills to help people realise their communication and swallowing potential. Learn how to observe communication and mealtimes in everyday settings, conduct assessments, interpret clinical data and develop interventions. You'll also gain hands-on experience working with a range of individual clients. As you learn, you'll take part in clinical workshops, guided demonstration sessions and simulation activities. You'll also work with service providers to help people with communication and swallowing needs participate and feel included in their community.

To qualify for the award of Master of Speech Pathology, students must complete 240 credit points consisting of: 240 core credit points

Standard entry requirements

  • Postgraduate: Prerequisites - Undergraduate requirements - Successful completion of an Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent).
