You'll work with a wide range of people, from small children who have difficulties understanding their parents to injured adults who need to learn how to speak and swallow again.You'll integrate your learning from Years 2 to 4 through case-based and simulated learning activities that will help you develop a range of practical client management skills. You'll also undertake simulated activities in the school’s six-bed simulation ward, and learn how to use innovative systems like telepractice.Importantly, you'll complete a range of supervised clinical placements to demonstrate your competency for entry into the profession. These clinical placements can include hospitals, educational facilities, healthcare organisations, private practices and UQ’s own open-to-the-public Speech Pathology clinic.
