This program is designed to help students develop essential skills required to operate successfully in the public and private sector business environments and to work in association with professionally qualified and broadly trained accountants. It is designed to develop a student's ability to make key business decisions and to identify, measure, and analyse economic information. The program is accredited by a variety of professional organisations and provides graduates access to opportunities, subject to gaining relevant experience and meeting other specific criteria, to become members of these organisations.

Structure

6 semesters over 3 years. A total of 24 subjects made up of 8 core subjects with choices of 11 accounting specialisation subjects or 18 elective subjects.

Standard entry requirements

  • Year 12 or equivalent with a minimum performance band 4 or equivalent in English
  • Or an approved Tertiary Preparation Program, Tertiary Orientation Program, or a Foundation Year Program
  • Mature Age Entry (age 21and older) is available for candidates possessing an employment background deemed suitable by the Dean
  • Or a standard of education equivalent completion of Year 12
  • International Students must demonstrate competency in the English language
  • International students for whom secondary education was conducted in a language other than English require an IELTS
