This program is suited to students who have an undergraduate degree without an undergraduate accounting major. They will combine foundation studies in economics, management, business law, information systems and statistics with more advanced studies in finance, management accounting, financial accounting, auditing and taxation. Students will also be required to master some quantitative skills.

- An Australian Bachelor's degree in any discipline or an approved equivalent qualification
- Admission may be granted to applicants without an undergraduate degree but with five or more years of relevant work experience

Recognition
The Master of Professional Accounting is accredited by CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), and, on the Melbourne campus, by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). Students are required to complete specific subjects in order to graduate with the accredited qualification, please refer to the Handbook for further details. Professional registration may require an application to the professional body and may have additional or ongoing requirements beyond the completion of the degree. Graduates of the Master of Professional Accounting may apply for membership with the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) and London's Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Study pathways
Applicants with demonstrated prior learning in business, either in the form of an undergraduate degree in a business related field or with at least five years relevant business experience, will be eligible to apply for Advanced Standing (credit) for the four subjects of the first semester of the course. In making an offer of Advanced Standing to an applicant, the University may give consideration to a range of factors including academic record and employment experience.
