Practical experience: A minimum of 800 hours of clinical and practical workplace experience is undertaken during the course. Placements are organised in acute hospital environments, mental health and community health facilities, primary care and regional and rural settings. Students will also learn in clinical simulation laboratories. Students may have the opportunity to undertake an overseas clinical placement during the final semester. They will need to cover the related costs of this placement. Career opportunities: Examples include registered nurse working in aged care, cancer care, clinical trials, community health, critical care, disaster management, education and health promotion, emergency, health policy, hospitals, immunisation, mental health, pharmaceutical industries, public health, remote area health.
