The Master of Civil Engineering (Professional) provides you with options for in-depth study in the broad engineering fields of structural, water and environmental, geotechnical and transportation engineering. You’ll advance your existing civil engineering knowledge and skills through practice-focused and advanced technical courses coupled with experiential learning experiences. Your study experience will include the completion of a research project in your final year. This project is an opportunity for you to work directly and intensively with academic mentors.

Structure

Complete 32 units comprising: 6 units for all MCivilEng(Prof) Core Courses, and 4 to 8 units from MCivilEng(Prof) Research Project Courses, and 10 units for MCivilEng(Prof) Advanced Undergraduate Electives Courses, and 8 to 12 units for MCivilEng(Prof) Postgraduate Elective Courses.

Standard entry requirements

A 4-year bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (see below), or A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) which includes all of the relevant discipline content (see below), or to have successfully completed 3 years of study towards an approved qualification at an overseas partner institution, with a formal pathway to the Master of Civil Engineering (Professional).
