Structure

  • The program requires the successful completion of a total of 330 units. Students are required to successfully complete: 280 units of Core Courses
  • and 40 units of Directed Courses (with no more than 20 units at the 1000 level) chosen from ONE Discipline Depth Study Area
  • and 10 units of Electives.

Standard entry requirements

  • Year 12
  • Selection based on ATAR or equivalent. Assumed knowledge: Three Band 5 HSC results (with one of those in English)
  • Those who do not meet this requirement will be admitted to an 80-unit discipline studies pathway inside their degree, which must be completed before progression to second-year is permitted, as required by the New South Wales Education Standards Authority (NESA).

Study pathways

Students wishing to complete graded honours have the option to apply for admission to transfer to the Bachelor of Education (Primary) (Honours) research program at the end of the second year. Admission to the Honours program is based upon a minimum GPA of 5.0 in the first 160 units of the Bachelor of Education (Primary) program.
