The Bachelor of Design (Honours) is a one-year year Honours course which, in consultation with industry, includes the latest knowledge and technology focused on the future direction of design and its diverse practices. The course is designed to deepen and extend students' professional skills and industry preparation through practice, theory and research. Students will consolidate their research and professional multidisciplinary competencies, and be encouraged to apply their specialist learning within an interdisciplinary framework.

Admission to the Bachelor of Design (Honours) program is normally through a credit-average qualification in a cognate discipline at AQF level 7, from a recognised tertiary institution. Applicants with a degree in a related discipline will require a credit-average and may be required to submit a portfolio of work that clearly illustrates expertise in their chosen field. Related fields may include architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning, digital arts, creative arts, multimedia or digital media, product design engineering, design technology, games and interactivity, and creative industries.
