Structure

To qualify for the award of Master of Chemical Sciences, students must complete 240 credit points consisting of: 240 core credit points

Standard entry requirements

  • Postgraduate: Prerequisites - Course specific requirements - Applicants who hold a Bachelor degree with substantial chemistry content equivalent to second or third-year chemistry may also be considered.
  • Postgraduate: Prerequisites - Course specific requirements - Specialisation - compulsory: Chemistry
  • Postgraduate: Prerequisites - Undergraduate requirements - Successful completion of an Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent).
  • International: IELTS - 6.5 < 6.0 (PG minimum) - 6.5 IELTS (Academic) with no individual band less than 6.0.

Recognition

Graduates of the Master of Chemical Sciences may apply for membership with the Royal Australian Chemical Institute. Membership may be subject to additional or ongoing requirements beyond completion of the degree. Please contact the relevant professional body for details.

Study pathways

Students with a Bachelor degree including significant studies in chemistry may be granted exemption or Advanced Standing, provided the course coordinator can determine that sufficient material has been covered.
