La Trobe's Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) provides you with the clinical knowledge, professional skills and industry connections needed to launch your career. A combination of tutorials, workshops, practical experience, online learning and 1000 hours of professional placements will enable you to use evidence-based occupational therapy assessments and interventions with people of all ages that improve their health and wellbeing.

Structure

To qualify for the award of Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours), students must complete 480 credit points consisting of: 375 core credit points 60 core-choice credit points 45 elective credit points

Standard entry requirements

  • Recent secondary education - VTAC prerequisite: Year 12 English prerequisite (25) - Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL.
  • Recent secondary education - UAC prerequisite: Year 12 English prerequisite (Band 3) - equivalent to VCE 25 - One of English Standard, English Advanced (Band 3), English as an Additional Language or Dialect (Band 4).
  • International: IELTS - 7.0 < 7.0 - 7.0 IELTS (Academic) with no individual band less than 7.0.

Recognition

The Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) is accredited by the Occupational Therapy Council of Australia (OTC). Graduates of the Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) may be eligible to apply for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia. Professional registration may be subject to additional or ongoing requirements beyond completion of the degree. Please contact the relevant professional body for details.
