The Graduate Diploma in International Relations requires 1 year of full-time study (or the equivalent part-time). The course is offered by the College of Business, Government and Law. The course articulates with the 18 unit Graduate Certificate in International Relations and the 72 unit Master International Relations, and the sequentially developed topics enable progression through the three awards. The course is also available as an exit award from the 72 unit Master of International Relations subject to meeting the requirements in the Program of Study below. In order to be able to exit with the Graduate Certificate in International Relations students must indicate their intention to not proceed with the primary degree and request that they exit with the Graduate Diploma in International Relations.

Structure

Students complete four core (compulsory) topics and four option topics chosen from a range of option topics available. To enable understanding of the key theoretical concepts, major historical themes and significant current issues in international relations. This graduate certificate articulates into the Graduate Certificate in International Relations and the Master of International Relations.

Standard entry requirements

Applicants must normally hold a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification or have a Graduate Certificate in International Relations, or approved equivalent.
