Our four year Laboratory Medicine course is an exciting specialisation that builds on the Bachelor of Medical Science degree and covers areas such as haematology and transfusion science, microbiology, genetics, immunology, virology, biochemistry, molecular biology and more. Students undertake two 13 week placements, equating to approximately 900 hours of laboratory placement in the fourth year of the degree, allowing them to apply their learning in a full time capacity to a diagnostic pathology laboratory environment.

Structure

To qualify for the Bachelor of Medical Science (Laboratory Medicine), a student must complete 144 units with a grade of P or NGP or better in each topic.

Standard entry requirements

This course can be applied for using one of the following qualifications: Year 12, TAFE qualifications, the Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT), the Flinders Foundation Studies Program and Tertiary Transfer.
