Myotherapy is a branch of manual therapy that helps clients to manage and relieve pain, and decrease movement restriction. Myotherapy involves extensive physical evaluation and an integrated approach to treating affected muscles, joints, connective tissue and nerves. It uses standard methods of assessment such as neurological and functional testing to determine the particular cause of musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. Myotherapists work with holistic, long-term goals in mind and provide rehabilitation plans for clients to help prevent reoccurrence.

Standard entry requirements

  • Year 12 or equivalent (OP/ATAR score not required)
  • Mature age students may be admitted by interview without meeting academic requirements if they have relevant work experience or other acceptable qualifications. Application is by face to face or telephone interview with an Enrolment Advisor


Graduates may apply for membership with the following professional associations: Australian Natural Therapies Association, Australian Traditional Medicine Society and Australian Association of Massage Therapists.

Study pathways

Students may seek credit for subjects recently studied in formal education, RPL for previous formal training and/or work/life experience, or mutual recognition for competencies achieved at other Registered Training Organisations.
