Kimberly Kushner, USA

Bachelor of Health Science (Nutritional Medicine)

I moved from Bali to start a Bachelor of Health Science (Nutritional Medicine) after developing a strong interest in food from a young age. I developed an iron deficiency while at high school which wasn't able to be treated with conventional medicine. This tweaked my interest in the natural health industry, and nutrition in particular. I've really enjoyed meeting other like-minded people through Endeavour College and experiencing different cuisines in Melbourne. Being able to throw yourself in the deep end through our work at the student clinic has been particularly rewarding. It is a great opportunity to work with real life cases and apply what you've learnt. I've found I particularly enjoy working with weight management, nervous system conditions and digestive issues. I've decided to keep studying and have enrolled in a Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy) which I will finish in two years because of my previous studies. My ultimate goal is to be a naturopath specialising in nutritional therapies and practice somewhere beautiful like the Northern Beaches of NSW or a health report in Bali.
