The Master of Occupational Hygiene uses science and engineering to measure exposure to physical, chemical and biological workplace hazards, communicating these to employers and employees to promote improved working conditions and practices. Using science and engineering you will design and implement appropriate control strategies to prevent ill health caused by the working environment. This degree has a flexible delivery mode combining online course content with three to five days of on campus block-teaching sessions focused on the exploration and application of the subject material. The on campus component utilises a range of campus resources, including UOWs well-resourced occupational health and safety laboratory.

Standard entry requirements

  • A recognised bachels degree with a maj in a science health-related discipline.
  • A degree in another relevant area (f example, Engineering) that contains at least one year of science-based subjects with an average mark of 50%.
  • A Graduate Certificate with an average mark of 65%.
  • Note: Applicants seeking admission based on other relevant qualifications and/ wk experience will be considered by the Faculty on an individual basis.
