The strategic thinking and data analysis skills you will gain from studying business are significantly valuable when applied to the planning, running or reviewing the scientific studies and reviews that underpin modern psychology.

Structure

  • The Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) - Bachelor of Business requires the successful completion of at least 264 credit points as specified below:156 credit points of core Psychology subjects
  • at least 6 credit points from the specified list of Science electives
  • and36 credit points of first year core Business subjects
  • a 6 credit point first year elective Business subject
  • andat least 48 credit points from a Business major
  • anda six credit point Business capstone subject
  • andadditional elective subjects, as required, to achieve a minimum degree total of 264 credit points, chosen from the from the Bachelor of Psychology (Honours), the Bachelor of Business or the General Schedule.Continuation in the Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) component of the course requires an average result of at least 75% at the end of 100-level, a cumulative average of at least 75% for 100 and 200-level subjects at the end of 200-level, and a cumulative average of at least 75% for 200 and 300-level subjects at the end of 300-level in the psychology subjects approved for the degree. Students who do not maintain this level of academic achievement will be required to transfer to the Bachelor of Psychological Science - Bachelor of Business.Psychology HonoursTo be eligible to proceed to the 400-level Psychology Honours program, students must have:Completed at least 144 credit points, including all required 100, 200 and 300-level Psychology core subjects outlined in course program
  • andMaintained a cumulative average of at least 75% for 200 and 300-level psychology subjects.The Psychology Honours program is made up of 48 credit points as specified below.(Candidates intending to complete Psychology Honours as part-time students will generally do PSYC418, PSYC415, PSYC416 and PSYC417 in the first year, and PSYC410 in the second year.)Business HonoursHonours in Business is also available for students who wish to undertake research training and advanced scholarship in this field. Applicants need to have achieved the required score in a qualification equivalent to the completion of 13 years of schooling in Australia.
