Medical biotechnology is the application of advances in molecular and cell biology to medicine, human health and disease. The Bachelor of Medical Biotechnology (Honours) encompasses the rapidly evolving fields of gene editing and CRISPR technologies, stem cell therapy, microbiome research, data science and Immunotherapy. By using innovative technologies, such as molecular modelling and design, next generation sequencing and advanced drug-delivery systems, biotechnology is shaping diverse aspects of medicine (e.g. cancer, vaccines, disease therapy and diagnostics, and medical devices), and many other fields (e.g. veterinary science, food production). This course will provide you with the tools and knowledge to work in any of these fields.
