The Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science (Exercise Science) meets the demand for professionals able to provide physical activity services to all sectors of the community.The course provides you with a strong understanding of the processes and mechanisms underlying sport and exercise science, and with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage and plan sport and exercise activities in health, exercise science, sport, event and exercise therapy contexts.
Structure
Students must complete at least 144 credit points over 24 subjects. Students choose four electives, appropriate to their chosen career, to complement the core subjects in the degree. Students studying to be a physical education teacher must take the performance studies subjects as electives. The course has an extensive internship program.

Standard entry requirements
Applicants must have completed an Australian Year 12 qualification, Australian Qualifications Framework Diploma, or equivalent Australian or overseas qualification at the required level. Students must apply through UAC to enrol in the course or specifically in the Exercise Therapy major (MAJ06234) (different UAC codes apply). The Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science (Exercise Therapy major) is NOT offered to non-recent school leaver applicants. Eligibility for admission does not guarantee offer of a place. Study pathways
After admission, students may apply for credit recognition in subjects in which they consider themselves eligible. Equivalence of subject matter is the main criterion for the award of credit recognition in a subject successfully completed at another institution. The Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science (Honours) is available to eligible students with an additional year of full-time study, or two years of part-time study. Further study at UTS Students who complete this course with the Health and Physical Education (HPE) major are eligible for direct entry into the Master of Teaching in Secondary Education (offered by UTS: Education). Acceptance into the Masters of Teaching is subject to satisfactory performance in this course.
