The Bachelor of Mechatronics Engineering (Honours)/ Bachelor of Mathematics combined degree program provides students with an opportunity to undertake concurrent study in Mechatronics Engineering and Mathematics and complete two awards. In general, a combined degree program offers greater breadth of learning, enhancing the academic and professional qualities gained in each separate degree. At the same time, it recognises the increasing need for students to graduate with multidisciplinary skills. From the control of robots to the optimisation of modern vehicles, to the design of appliances to biomechanics, mechatronics engineers become involved in a diverse range of exciting modern technologies. This may also include the design, automation and operational performance of electro-mechanical systems combined with mathematics. Students gain valuable expertise analysing data, producing models and predicting future trends in a variety of areas.
Structure
- The Bachelor of Mechatronics Engineering (Honours)/Bachelor of Mathematics is a five year program, students are required to complete 400 units, which is comprised of: 330 units of Core Courses
- 60 units of Mathematics Directed Courses: 20 units taken at the 2000 level
- 40 units taken at the 3000 level
- and 10 units of Elective Courses.

Standard entry requirements
Eligibility for admission to this program is based on applicants meeting the minimum selection rank, or satisfying the requirements for an approved admission scheme.
Recognition
The program is accredited by Engineers Australia. Graduates of this program are able to join as graduate members on completion, and as student members during studies.

It may not always be possible to complete this combined Engineering degree within 5 years. This combined Engineering degree is not available for midyear admission by international students.
