Combining the Bachelor of Business with a Bachelor of Laws (Combined) will open you up to a myriad of career opportunities. Not only will you gain a broad understanding of Australian and global business environments, but you will also develop a strong legal understanding and the ability to apply logical reasoning which can be used within various business settings.You will have hands-on experience with opportunities to work on real cases, while gaining essential courtroom experience. This degree is a combined program meaning you will gain two qualifications in only five years of study.
Structure
The Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Laws (Honours) is undertaken over five years of full-time study. The combined degree program requires successful completion of 400 units, which is comprised of: 220 units core courses, 10 units career-ready placement, 10 units business course list, 80 units law course list, one 80 unit business major.
Standard entry requirements
- Year 12 or equivalent
- For the Bachelor of Business: assumed knowledge of Mathematics
- No assumed knowledge for Law
- Selection is via academic merit onlyThere are a number of ways to gain entry to the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) program at the University of Newcastle. Students may be considered for admission on the basis of:NSW HSC or equivalent - irrespective of age of qualification

Study pathways
Credit may be available to students who have studied a VET course or who have studied through another Higher Education Institution. Honours in the Bachelor of Business is available as an additional year to students who achieve a credit grade point average.
