The objective of this program is to enhance research pathways and increase the research capability of students in the Faculty of Health and students requiring an understanding of basic research methods, with the intention of enhancing their capacity to undertake higher degrees by research. It will incorporate lectures, online and tutorial sessions to provide students with the necessary research skills for admission to a doctoral level postgraduate research program. On completion of the Postgraduate Diploma in Health Research students will be competent in developing an answerable research question, planning and developing a research proposal and, conducting and reporting on a research project.

Standard entry requirements

A completed bachelor degree in a health-related discipline. A health-related discipline includes medicine, nursing, dentistry, psychology, counselling, pharmacy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nutrition and dietetics, optometry, speech pathology, sports and exercise science, speech pathology.

Study pathways

Exit award: Graduate Certificate in Health Research. The Graduate Certificate in Health Research is subsumable into this course.
