The Master of Education (Leadership and Innovation) develops advanced technical skills and knowledge that you can apply to extend your professional practice. It offers ongoing professional development for contemporary educators, deepening knowledge as a foundation for educational leadership. This course provides advanced theoretical and practical knowledge in identifying issues and opportunities in education, designing methods of responding to issues through practice, and the role of technology in contemporary learning settings. It explores a range of contemporary innovations and focuses on analysing and critiquing existing innovative approaches. The Master of Education (Leadership and Innovation) provides the opportunity for existing teachers, education practitioners and other professionals to upskill, enhance research ability and develop proficiency in specific areas of education theory and practice.

Structure

This subject comprises of 10 core and 2 elective subjects. Each subject involves 10 hours of study per week, comprising 3 hours of facilitated study and 7 hours of self-directed study.

Standard entry requirements

AQF Level 7 (Bachelor degree) or above from an Australian university OR an equivalent overseas higher education qualification OR a combination of formal (below AQF7) or non-formal qualifications and three years of relevant professional experience including those who are currently working in education-related fields and teachers holding alternative qualifications.
