The Master of Counselling (Advanced) prepares you for a rewarding career using counselling and coaching skills across diverse professional settings. You will build on core theory while gaining practical experience to support individuals and communities through all life stages. This course is not accepting new enrolments until 2027.The course focuses on lifelong learning, resilience, professional boundaries, and effective communication, skills essential for work in counselling, education, business, and community wellbeing. Through hands-on learning, supervised practice, and reflection, you will refine your professional approach.
Structure
Delivered both on campus and online, the Master of Counselling (Advanced) comprises of 11 core subjects and 5 electives, each subject requiring 10 hours of study per week (made up of classes and self-directed study). Assessments may include activity-based assignments or online quizzes.
Standard entry requirements
Australian bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study or equivalent, OR Australian bachelor's degree or equivalent in a non-related field of study and the completion of the Torrens University Work Life Entry Form and successful completion of the Torrens University Graduate Certificate in Counselling.
