A Graduate Certificate of Education (Mental Health) provides advanced knowledge and skills, focusing on three core issues – anxiety, depression and eating disorders. It improves both understanding of and the ability to apply positive support services directly into a range of learning environments. You will attain an understanding of issues faced by mainstream teachers educational practice, and advanced knowledge and skills in supporting individuals with mental health challenges. This course offers a model of support and flexible tailored learning to suit individual student needs. This is not an accredited Australian Initial Teacher Education course and therefore does not qualify the student to teach in Australia.

Structure

Each subject involves 10 hours of study per week, comprising 3 hours of facilitated study and 7 hours self-directed study.

Standard entry requirements

A completed qualification at AQF Level 7 (Bachelor degree) or above from an Australian University, OR an equivalent overseas higher education qualification.
