This course equips you with the knowledge, skills, and experience to graduate ready for the classroom, and for the profession. Develop your knowledge and understanding of how children learn and the implications for teaching and how to create safe, inclusive, engaging and supportive learning environments, combined with hands-on learning as you spend over 100 days of professional placement in primary schools, starting from your first semester.

Structure

In your first three years, you will complete units that familiarise you with all of the learning areas of the primary school curriculum, as well as developmental and learning theory that enables you to design effective learning programs. You will also gain essential knowledge and understandings about inclusive education and how to design learning programs for primary children from diverse backgrounds.

  • Achieved an ATAR of at least 75, or equivalent as recognised by UWA or
  • An assured pathway offer or
  • A place in a relevant UWA access program
