The Graduate Certificate of Technology Governance is designed for working professionals and recent graduates seeking to advance their knowledge in data governance, digital transformation and technological change. It provides skills that are transferable to legislative and regulatory affairs, policy design and analysis, industry, civil society and advocacy. Relevant employers include Commonwealth and State Digital Transformation Departments; Federal and State level policy units, including Better Regulation units and offices; Compliance and Enforcement offices; and organisations tasked with supporting cybersecurity and privacy, data protection and governance, digital economic activities and health and consumer safety.

Standard entry requirements

  • Applicants who do not hold a bachelor degree or an international equivalent with a minimum GPA of 4/7 may apply to admission based on
  • (a) a minimum of 5 years work experience in a role that has responsibility for organization level or public, private or NGO sector wide regulatory system design and/or monitoring and compliance and/or enforcement (an employer statement of service and evidence of the work experience will be required) or
  • (b) a minimum of 10 years work experience in one or more roles at ANZSCO Skill Level 1. These roles need not relate directly to regulation and/or governance. Most occupations at ANZSCO Skill Level 1 have a level of skill commensurate with a bachelor degree or higher qualification. At least five years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification. In some instances relevant experience and/or on the job training may be required in addition to the formal qualification (ANZSCO Skill Level 1)
