Students who achieve excellent academic performance in their accounting studies will be eligible to apply for the Honours year. The program extends undergraduate studies in financial accounting, management accounting, auditing and taxation. Students undertake advanced coursework and a research thesis. Classes are conducted in a seminar setting. Students will have the opportunity to interact with research active academic staff, engage in the analysis of advanced accounting issues, and develop critical thinking skills.

Standard entry requirements

  • An AQF Level 7 Bachelor Degree, or international equivalent, completed within the last two years:
  • That satisfies the requirements for the completion of an ANU accounting major or equivalent university study, and
  • With a weighted average mark equivalent to an ANU 70 per cent calculated from the 36 units (i.e. 0.75 EFTSL) of courses with the highest final marks, excluding 1000 level courses (i.e. introductory undergraduate courses), from courses eligible for inclusion in an ANU accounting major or equivalent, and
  • Confirmation of an Honours Supervisor, and
  • Interview with the Honours Convener.
