From Session1, 2025, students can apply to study the Diploma of Social Science and will explore the fundamental concepts and theories of the social sciences, including social structures, human behaviour, cultural diversity and social change. It will equip students with the practical knowledge and skills needed to work in social science-based fields. It provides skills in social analysis, sourcing and evaluating information group work, communications, understanding social diversity and critical thinking. Students can choose between a number of electives in the fields of human services, criminology and psychology, which can lead them into more specialist areas of study. The program therefore also provides students with a pathway to life-long learning with the potential for further study in the Bachelor of Social Science (and related majors), or a range of related disciplines in higher education institutions.
