Aligned with the CFA Institute and a CAIA Academic Partner, the program covers FinTech, AI, blockchain, cybersecurity, alternative investments, business analytics, and sustainability. Structure
To qualify for the award of Master of Finance students must complete 16 units of study (200 credit points)
Standard entry requirements
- A bachelor degree in a related discipline
- Or a graduate certificate in a related discipline
- Or A bachelor degree (or higher award) in any discipline and have two years relevant work experience or the Postgraduate Qualifying Program (available to International applicants only) PLUS either previous related discipline Higher Education Study, OR a minimum of two years relevant work experience. Completed a bachelor degree (or higher award) in any discipline from a recognised higher education institution or equivalent OR Completed the Postgraduate Qualifying Program (available to International applicants only)
Recognition
Master of Finance is recognised under the CFA Institute Affiliated University. The course covers at least 70% of all three topic levels of the CFA program Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK) placing emphasis on the CFA Institute Codes of Ethics and Standards of Practice. This recognition signals to students, employers and the marketplace that that Swinburne’s curriculum is closely tied to professional practice and is well suited to preparing you for employment in the finance and investment industry, and for sitting the CFA examination. Students in the Master of Finance may be eligible for CFA Program Student Scholarships.
