This course prepares graduates with an understanding of human anatomy, biochemistry and physiology, nutrition education, health needs of specific populations, management, food service management, medical nutrition therapy, and practice in clinical dietetics. As a health qualification, the Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics also allows entry to general health-related positions.
Structure
384 credit points in a set program of study. This is a four-year course comprising core Nutrition and Dietetics studies and professional placement studies.

Recognition
This course is accredited by the Dietitians Association of Australia and graduates are eligible to apply for the Accredited Practising Dietitian credential. Graduates can apply for membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia, the Public Health Association of Australia, Sports Medicine Australia, the Nutrition Society and other bodies.
Study pathways
Graduates with a first- or second-class division A Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics (Honours) degree may be eligible to enter IF49 Doctor of Philosophy. Admission to the PhD depends on an applicant's demonstrated research aptitude and the availability of supervision, infrastructure and resources needed for the proposed research project.

Blue Card; tuberculosis screening; Hepatitis B vaccination. Diphtheria, Measles, Mumps, Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Rubella, Tetanus and Varicella (Chicken Pox) vaccinations are mandatory for all students attending a Queensland Health facility for placement.
