Structure
- To qualify for award of the Master of Social Work, you must submit a satisfactory thesis of typically 40,000 words or less which demonstrates specialised knowledge and research skills in your field. Your thesis will be examined by at least two examiners and must demonstrate the following course learning outcomes:
- Mastery of theoretical knowledge and ability to reflect critically on theory and its application.
- Ability to analyse and synthesise complex information, problems, concepts and theories and apply to established theories from different bodies of knowledge or practice.
- Ability to generate and assess complex ideas and concepts at an abstract level.
- Ability to design, use and evaluate research and research methods.
- Advanced communication and technical skills to present coherent arguments and disseminate research findings to specialist and non-specialist audiences. Papers written by you during your candidature may be included in your thesis, where these are of direct relevance to the research you describe in your thesis.

Standard entry requirements
Postgraduate: Prerequisites - Course specific requirements - Specialisation - completion of a bachelor degree in a related discipline, that contains at least one year, or the equivalent, of full-time studies in the social and behavioural sciences.
