Honours in Animal and Veterinary Biosciences gives you the opportunity to specialise in the following disciplines: animal physiology and health agriculture biochemistry and cell biology chemistry environment and genetics human anatomy, physiology and pharmacology microbiology science education Projects are located at the Melbourne and Albury-Wodonga La Trobe campuses and at external research institutes such as the Baker Institute and Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute.
Structure
To qualify for the award of Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Biosciences with Honours, students must complete 120 credit points as follows: 15 core credit-points 90 core choice credit-points 15 elective credit-points
Standard entry requirements
Australian Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant study area. Students are selected based on their performance in the final year of the pass degree course. Students must obtain a minimum average of 60 per cent across all of their third-year subjects and obtain at least 65 per cent in subjects related to the Honours discipline to the value of 60 credit points. Meeting this requirement, however, does not guarantee a place in the Honours year as resources may limit the total number of places available, and students are expected to find a supervisor prior to enrolment.
