The Master of Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) provides education in artificial intelligence systems development and exploitation that solves real world problems using contemporary technologies while leveraging aspects of human intelligence. It enable computing graduates to extend their skills in an important emerging area, preparing students for either higher degree study or advanced employment in the Australian and international information technology industry and public service sectors.

Structure

To qualify for the Master of Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence), a student must complete 72 units with a grade of P or NGP or better in each topic.

Standard entry requirements

  • Applicants must normally hold a degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution in computer science, information technology, ICT based engineering or a closely related discipline
  • Or the Graduate Diploma in Computer Science. Applicants with a degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution in behavioural science or psychology, which includes a major in artificial intelligence or computer science, are also eligible to apply.
  • However, the Dean (Education) may, under certain circumstances and subject to specific conditions, admit others who can show evidence of fitness for candidature.
