Master Degrees (Research) prepare students to apply advanced knowledge for research, scholarship and further learning corresponding to AQF level 9 qualifications.This research course provides an opportunity to undertake a significant study in an area of mathematics and statistics. Areas of research usually reflect research interests of staff in one of the areas of applied mathematics, discrete mathematics, numerical analysis, operations research and statistics. Thesis topics are selected from problems of continuing or emerging significance in mathematics and relate strongly to relevant problems arising from local industry and government.

Applications for Credit for Recognised Learning are assessed on an individual basis. Students should not enrol in this research course to receive a related Postgraduate Diploma but rather have undertaken it as a requisite for admission.
