At the heart of high performance sport is the conditioning of the athlete, with the aim of optimising individual and team performance and keeping them at the top of their game. You will gain skills in sports performance and analysis, exercise programming, and strength and conditioning of athletes. You will learn to design and deliver programs that enhance athletic performance and reduce the likelihood of injury and illness.
240 credit points. Students must complete 200 hours of appropriate professional experience (practicum), with accurate record-keeping, as part of course accreditation requirements.As part of your course, you will be placed in a range of organisations to integrate the theory you learn with practical workplace experiences (placements). Standard entry requirements
- To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites at year 12 level, or equivalent.New South Wales Prerequisites: English (Standard) -Band 3 Recommended studies: Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE)

Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) accreditation: This new degree has 'qualifying accreditation' status with Exercise and Sports Science Australia for the Strathfield and Melbourne campuses. This is the first step towards a full accreditation application at the Exercise Scientist level for graduates in the program from 2019. (Full accreditation also means that the course is approved as providing the appropriate knowledge and skills to enter our postgraduate Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology course). Australian Strength & Conditioning Association (ASCA) accreditation: This degree will soon seek accreditation at ASCA Level 1 and partial accreditation at ASCA Level 2 for graduates in the program from 2019.
Graduates are eligible to apply for admission to: postgraduate studies in High Performance Sport; postgraduate studies in Clinical Exercise Physiology courses, if seeking Exercise Physiology accreditation; one-year Honours courses, for meritorious students preparing for higher degree research; further study in other allied health professions.
