Jessie Webb Scholarship

The late Jessie Stobo Watson Webb, senior lecturer in the School of History, created a fund to enable the university 'to send a student to spend a season in Greece under the direction of the British School of Archaeology at Athens or any other similar school'.

Eligibility

Applicants must: be enrolled in a postgraduate course undertaking research in ancient history or classical studies at the University of Melbourne. The recipient is required as a condition of the award to spend a season (3-6 months) in Greece under the direction of the British School of Archaeology at Athens or any other similar school in Greece. Selection is based on academic merit and proposed program of study in Greece.

Amount $14,000

The amount available for this award is approximate and will be determined by the committee at the time of awarding.
