Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence and research potential to local and international candidates undertaking a research doctoral degree.
Applicants must: be Australian or New Zealand citizens, Australian permanent residents or international candidates; be commencing in an RMIT PhD program; have completed a Bachelor Degree with First Class Honours; and have applied for a full-time PhD program at RMIT. Part-time VCPS may be approved for candidates with exceptional circumstances (e.g. for medical reasons or due to significant care commitments). Part-time scholarships are not tax exempt. Applicants will be considered ineligible for a VCPS if: they are currently holding a research doctorate, or an equivalent research qualification; currently undertaking a research doctorate; or currently receiving another equivalent award, scholarship or research related salary providing a benefit greater than 75 per cent of the current year APA base rate to undertake the research degree.
All applications will be ranked based on a model that has been approved by RMIT's Research Committee. https://www.rmit.edu.au/students/student-essentials/information-for/research-candidates/enriching-your-candidature/grants-and-scholarships/2019/postgraduate-by-research/vice-chancellors-phd-scholarship
