The scholarship was established to honour Professor Maxwell King, who made an outstanding contribution to graduate research at Monash University, including 8 years as Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research and Research Training).

Eligibility

Applicants must: hold an Australian or New Zealand bachelor degree with first class honours (H1); or qualifications and/or research experience deemed equivalent by the University.

Amount $32,732

Tenure is 3 years for a PhD with a possible 6-month extension. A research allowance of up to $1,500 per annum may also be payable.
