Creating Opportunity Fund Scholarship

Australian Catholic University (ACU)

This scholarship was established in 2018 in order to financially assist commencing students who are suffering hardship to access higher education. Such hardships may include, relocation from a regional or remote location, single parent background, first in family to attend university, domestic violence, ongoing medical conditions, non-English speaking background, social, cultural disadvantage or adjusting to life in Australia as a refugee.


- Future students- Citizenship: domestic and international students who hold a Temporary Protection visa (TPV) or a Safe Haven Enterprise visa (SHEV) or asylum seekers on a Bridging visa A (BVA) or E (BVE)- Course: any ACU undergraduate degree

Amount $4,000

There are one-off payment scholarships and also a limited number of ongoing scholarships which will be awarded to applicants who demonstrate exceptional circumstances. All applicants will be considered for both the one-off payment as well as the ongoing scholarship.One-off payment: This scholarship is valued at $4,000, to be paid in one lump sum. Ongoing: This scholarship is valued at up to $16,000 to be paid in instalments of $2,000 per semester for full-time students and $1,000 for part-time students.There are 40 scholarships available (of which a minimum of five will be awarded to students at ACU’s Blacktown campus).
