This course prepares students for employment in both the commercial business sector and the sport, exercise and active recreation sector as managers, administrators, policy advisors, programmers, trainers, and leaders. The breadth of studies into business and commerce will provide ready employment in profit making enterprises and elite and professional sport, while the more sport oriented units will deliver skills for building sporting communities and developing social enterprises. Graduates will also have the skills and competencies to optimise customer and participant satisfaction, build sustainable communities, and deliver social utility. The course also covers team-sport management, gym and exercise program administration, and community-based physical activity programming. The course thus enables graduates to enter a broad range of administrative, management, and professional-support positions in professional services, governing bodies, sport clubs, sport facilities, sport events, local government, and community welfare agencies, outdoor adventure, adventure sports, outdoor education, and corporate training settings. It will also provide unique learning situations that build a breadth of capabilities, including the capacity to plan, organise, program and lead complex activities at the highest professional level. It also provides the opportunity for students to build highly valued character traits including integrity, cultural sensitivity, and psychological resilience.

Standard entry requirements
- Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or at least 20 in any other English
