Environmental engineers assess, plan and manage human impact on the natural and built environment in a sustainable manner. They identify problems and apply engineering knowledge and skills to develop solutions that are ethical and socially responsible. They design and operate processes and equipment for the supply of sustainable water, land, energy, waste, and transport, considering the systems full life cycle. Environmental engineers work with interdisciplinary teams in consulting firms, regulatory authorities, in all levels of governments, and in research and development. The first year of study allows you to learn more about engineering and its various fields. From your second year, you will focus on your chosen major where you will also have the option to complete a double major, combining two engineering disciplines. Available double major combinations include architectural engineering and environmental engineering; civil engineering and environmental engineering; mining engineering and environmental engineering.
