The Bachelor of Visual Arts (Honours) focuses on establishing your individual research practice, further equipping you for entry into professional practice or entry into the Master of Fine Arts or Doctor of Philosophy programs. This course may be suitable for undergraduate students with one major. As a candidate you may continue to work in the area of your undergraduate study or undertake research in a different area. Students who have completed a major in Visual Arts are ineligible for this Honours program.

Standard entry requirements

  • To qualify for admission to the honours year applicants require:
  • Completion of the requirements of the pass degree of the Bachelor of Visual Arts at the University of Sydney or an equivalent degree from another university with a weighted average mark (WAM) of at least 70 across all 2000 and 3000 level units
  • Presentation of a research proposal outlining the proposed topic of investigation
  • Presentation of a portfolio of creative work demonstrating level of expertise for honours level.
