Structure
The Master of Professional Accounting (Advanced) requires students to complete 160 units of study. This is gained through completion of twelve core courses worth 10 units each, and four directed courses chosen from International Business, Information Technology, or a mixture of both.
Standard entry requirements
- Entry into the Master of Professional Accounting (Advanced) will be available for applicants who have: Bachelor Degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification, in any field of study
- Or At least 7 years' relevant organisational experience, including 2 years in a management position
- Or Successful completion of 75% (30 units) of one of the following UoN programs: Graduate Certificate in Business Administration, Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance, Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management, Graduate Certificate in Marketing, Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting
Recognition
The program is structured to satisfy the Guidelines for Joint Accreditation of Tertiary Courses by the Professional Accounting Bodies issued jointly by CPA Australia and The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA), and the Core Curriculum Areas issued by the ICAA. Graduation from an accredited accounting program facilitates initial entry to Associate membership of CPA Australia and (subject to employment and supervision requirements) eligibility for enrolment in the ICAA's CA Program. Students completing the program will meet the academic requirements for Associate membership of CPA Australia and enrolment in the CPA Program, and for enrolment in the Chartered Accountants Program of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
Study pathways
Completion of the Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting is a pathway for admission to this degree and is eligible for 40 units credit into the program.
