It is crucial for individuals, enterprises, and governments to be able to secure cyberspace from attacks, to effectively conduct their business. This program provides an open path to cyber security for individuals from diverse backgrounds. You will develop a holistic understanding of security measures, encompassing network, system, and foundational theories. Gain insights into cyber systems and infrastructures, and their applications. Explore the human and legal aspects of cyber security. Learn the skills needed to address global skill shortages. Access our advanced, industry-leading cyber security labs. You'll help run cyber hackathons and develop real-world applications in a controlled environment. You will also have the choice between two specialisations to suit your career aspirations.

Structure

160 unit program structure: Students will undertake 160 units of study, which is comprised of: 80 units of core courses, 60 units of directed courses and 20 units of elective courses.80 unit program structure: Students will undertake 80 units of core courses.

Standard entry requirements

The program requirements and the volume of learning are dependent on the student’s prior academic qualifications.To complete the Master of Cyber Security:The M Cyber Security is comprised of 160 units, in which students complete 80 units of core courses and one of two specialisations. The two specialisations are available to Callaghan and Online students only.Callaghan and Online Students complete the following:Cyber Security Analyst Specialisation - which includes:70 units of compulsory courses and 10 units from a course listORCyber Security Engineer Specialisation - which includes:70 units of compulsory courses and 10 units from a course listSingapore students (NAIHE) only:The M Cyber Security is comprised of 160 units, in which students complete 80 units of core courses and the 'no specialisation'. This is only available to students studying via the NAIHE location.Cyber Security 'No Specialisation' - which includes80 units from the 'no specialisation' list.

Recognition

The Master of Cyber Security (Callaghan and Online) is provisionally accredited by the Australian Computer Society (ACS) for students who commence between 2024 and 2026 (inclusive). Please note, the program is not accredited at Singapore (NAIHE).
