Our Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences (Advanced) is a degree for highly capable students who are passionate about maths and want to excel. Alongside mathematical and statistical expertise, our advanced degree places a strong emphasis on research skills. You will: work with award-winning academics and researchers in state-of-the-art facilities, access special programs designed for high-achieving students, gain valuable exposure to mathematical sciences research culture, take three Advanced Mathematical Perspectives courses.
Structure
- Students take courses to the value of at least 72 units comprising a core mathematical sciences requirement, including advanced level coursework, together with a number of electives. Students must complete at least 18 units of Level III courses chosen from Applied Mathematics, Pure Mathematics or Statistics together with Advanced Mathematical Perspectives III..

Standard entry requirements
SACE Stage 2: Mathematical Methods and Specialist Mathematics. IB: Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches (HL). MathTrackX is an online bridging program available as a recognised alternative to Mathematical Methods.
Study pathways
Students completing the Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences (Advanced) will be automatically eligible for entry to the of Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences Honours. Honours consists of one further year of full-time study that includes a research component.
