The Graduate Diploma of Public Health provides advanced knowledge, preparing health professionals to address public health challenges and improve health and wellbeing. It emphasises the social determinants of health, equipping you to address inequalities for the most vulnerable populations around the world.You will gain an understanding of current global and environmental health issues, health policy, systems and economics, along with social, behavioural and cultural determinants of health. The course develops skills such as planning, implementation and evaluation of public health programs, health promotion and disease prevention strategies, advocacy, statistics and epidemiology and analytical and communication skills. Upon completion of the Graduate Diploma of Public Health, you may progress your career in Public Health or complete further study with the Master of Public Health.
Structure
Delivered on campus or online, the Graduate Diploma of Public Health comprises 5 core subjects and 3 specialisations, each subject requiring 10 hours of study per week (made up of classes and self-directed study). Assessments may include activity-based assignments or online quizzes. There are no formal exams.
Standard entry requirements
AQF Level 7 (Bachelor degree) or above OR Combination of formal (below AQF7) or non-formal qualifications and seven years of relevant experience in a health professional role.
