This unique course is the first of its kind in the southern hemisphere, and unites experts from Monash University’s Department of Forensic Medicine and Faculty of Law, along with leading Australian experts in their fields.For medical professionals, the course provides insights into the legal frameworks underpinning the coronial and justice systems and the role of medical evidence in that context. For legal experts engaging in coronial or criminal law, or in medical malpractice, the course provides an understanding of forensic technologies, their roles and limitations.

The course is structured in four parts:Part A. Introductory legal knowledgePart B. Introductory forensics knowledgePart C. Extending specialist legal knowledgePart D. Extending specialist forensics knowledge

Standard entry requirements

An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) in a cognate discipline(including medicine, nursing, psychology, criminology, law, humanities,arts or social sciences related discipline) with at least a pass (50%) average.
