The Advanced Diploma of Counselling course is designed to provide students with the essential foundational knowledge and skills to enable them to work as a counsellor or to enhance their current skills and work practice. The course has a practical evidence based focus and is trauma informed with self-reflection and self-evaluation processes incorporated to foster effective professional development.

Structure

Students must pass 16 core units, each worth 10 credit points, to be awarded the Advanced Diploma of Counselling

Standard entry requirements

  • Satisfactory completion of Year 12 in the Australian school system with an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of 65 or above, or its equivalent, with English Proficiency
  • Mature Age admission for those who have reached the age of 21, with English Proficiency.
  • International students must be at least 18 years of age, must have an IELTS (or equivalent) of 6.5 or greater and with no score less than 6.0 in each band of the test.
