This degree provides graduates with the opportunity to undertake advanced study and research. You will gain thorough training in applied research and methodology and be prepared for higher degree by research studies and professional employment in the research field. The program consists of coursework and a research component. The coursework will provide a critical evaluation of research and presentation, develop your knowledge and understanding of statistical analyses techniques as applied to research and develop an awareness of research proposal design and background. You will have the opportunity to develop a research proposal including aims, methodology and a literature review. You will undertake a major research project under the supervision of one of our leading researchers. It will involve applied research on a specific project, a seminar and thesis describing the research in detail.
Standard entry requirements
- A recognized Bachelor degree within a relevant health discipline (Allied Health, Biological Science, Health Science, Medical Science, Medicine, Midwifery, Nursing, Pharmaceutical Science, Public Health or Social Work) or a related health discipline from a recognized University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a GPA of at least 5 (using a 7-point scale) or equivalent.
- A recognized Bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognized University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a GPA of at least 5 (using a 7-point scale) AND a minimum of 2 years full time (or equivalent) industry experience in a health field.
