Biomedical engineering is about developing applications that improve quality of life. This degree will help fill growing opportunities in biomedical engineering to satisfy the demand for increasingly sophisticated medical technology that supports the quality of life of an ageing population, and the demand for devices to improve health and fitness particularly among elite athletes. Many sports organisations are now using biomedical engineers to maintain and enhance the performance of their athletes.

To qualify for the Master of Engineering (Biomedical), a student must complete 72 units with a grade of P or NGP or better in each topic.

  • Applicants must normally hold at least one of the following:
  • The Flinders University Graduate Diploma in Engineering Science with a major in Biomedical Engineering
  • Completion of year 1 topics in the Flinders University Master of Engineering Science, undertaking the Biomedical Engineering Major
  • A relevant Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering Technology, Bachelor of Engineering Science
  • An equivalent overseas qualification
